Tripod Workshop Houston TX- May 12, 2008
Tripod Solutions is proud to announce the next Tripod Workshop will be held in Houston, TX on May 12, 2008. There will be seven workshops on Industrial and Hospital / Patient Safety.

Results NVVK Congres
Tripod Solutions was again present with a stand at this years NVVK Congress on safety. We have been able to inform many safety experts on the latest developments of the Tripod Incident Analysis method. Jop Groeneweg was one of the speakers. He also wrote an article (in Dutch) for the congress, on the future of the safety expert, how his/her role should change into a managers role of process integrity.

Dutch Safety Board employs Tripod to analyse the Schiphol-fire.
The Dutch Safety Board has used the Tripod Beta method to investigate the Schiphol-fire. This very unfortunate fire with multiple casualties and injured, was investigated by this autonomous body. Tripod is part of their "method of operation" in case of obligatory investigations. See their method of operation, where the Tripod "What, How and Why did it happen" assessment is at the core of its model.

Health sector benefits from Tripod: Radiation-safety investigated with Tripod.
Radiation-safety was recently investigated with the Tripod methodology in the Health Sector. As the result of a recent research, the VU Amsterdam Medical Centre found Tripod applicable as a risk analysis method in the domain of radiation-safety. For more information, see the article (Dutch).

Become an accredited Tripod Beta Practitioner
A Tripod Beta Practitioner investigates and analyses incidents using the Tripod Theory of incident causation. Accordingly, this person must be competent in the understanding of the Tripod Beta methodology and also its application when investigating and analysing incidents. When these competencies have been satisfactorily assessed, the person is said to be an “Accredited Tripod Beta PRACTITIONER”.
Accreditation as a Tripod Beta Practitioner is applicable to those who:
- Attend an “Open” training course, (i.e., open to individuals who want to be trained and accredited)
- Attend an “In House” training course for a specific company
- Want to be accredited but who do not want to undertake the formal Tripod Beta Practitioner training course.
Attending a Tripod Beta Practitioner training course is not compulsory, although attending one would greatly assist in passing this assessment. Those not undertaking the formal Tripod Beta Practitioners training course will be subject to exactly the same assessment on “Tripod Beta Knowledge” as those who do undertake the training.
