Tripod Beta Practitioner accreditation

A Tripod Beta Practitioner investigates and analyses incidents using the Tripod Theory of incident causation. Accordingly, this person must be competent in the understanding of the Tripod Beta methodology and also its application when investigating and analysing incidents.

When these competencies have been satisfactorily assessed, the person is said to be an “Accredited Tripod Beta PRACTITIONER”.

Maintaining Accreditation

To maintain accreditation it is important to guarantee the knowledge and skills of the Tripod Beta Practitioner over time. Therefore, accreditation needs to be maintained.

Criteria

To guarantee the knowledge and skills of the Tripod Beta Practitioner over time, the Tripod Beta Practitioner needs to investigate and analyse incidents regularly. The assessment to maintain accreditation will be based on an assessment of two Tripod Beta reports in a two-year period.

These Tripod Beta reports will be assessed using the same criteria for becoming a Tripod Beta Practitioner. (Note: No written knowledge assessment will be required for accreditation renewal.)

After approval of these reports, the accreditation continues for another two years.

Written Exam

Applicants who have NOT attended a Tripod Beta Practitioner Training Course can also apply for accreditation to Tripod Solutions. The written assessment can be taken at the office of Tripod Solutions, or at offices of Tripod Solutions Providers.

Attending a Tripod Beta Practitioner training course is not compulsory, although attending one would assist in passing this assessment.

Those not undertaking the formal Tripod Beta Practitioners training course will be subject to exactly the same assessment on “Tripod Beta Knowledge” as those who do undertake the training.

Re-exam

The initial accreditation fee consists of assessment of a maximum of three reports, whereby sending back an improved report counts as another assessment. To complete the Tripod Beta accreditation process, you will need to deliver two competent reports. If you need more than three reports, to deliver two competent reports, additional costs have to be charged.
